JSON-LD Product markup

JSON-LD Product markup is a block of structured data in a page that describes the product using the schema.org Product type: name, brand, GTIN, MPN, offers. It lets machines read identifiers without parsing prose. It is a second channel, not a replacement for facts stated in the visible page.

How it differs from the visible page

Markup and text should say the same thing. When they disagree — markup with last season's capacity, text with this season's — a model has two sources on one page and no way to know which the seller meant.

Example

Each record at /products carries a Product block with its GTIN, MPN, brand and sameAs links, matching the facts in the page text.
